His solo album Tsunami won “Best Instrumental Solo Album of the Year” at the 2012 Chinese Music Awards and was nominated at Taiwan’s Golden Melody Awards; his 2026 album Pure Heart brings twenty new originals. The composer

About Lu Jia-Hong

Born in Taiwan, Lu started violin at four and picked up the guitar in junior high. After graduating from National Taiwan University he chose music full-time, and has since spent 30 years composing, performing, recording and teaching.

His solo album Tsunami (大海嘯, 2011) won Best Instrumental Solo Album of the Year at the 2012 Chinese Music Awards and was nominated for Best Instrumental Album at Taiwan’s 23rd Golden Melody Awards. His 2007 method book coined the Chinese term for fingerstyle guitar, 指彈吉他, and he has published more than 30 guitar books since 1999. He has also played guitar on over a thousand concerts and many award-winning records with Mandarin pop’s leading artists.
